As HR professionals, we are in unique positions to have our fingers on the pulse of the organization. With colleagues at all levels of the organization coming to us, we alone are able to see how the threads of our workplace come together and are stretched through daily interactions. Whether recruiting, onboarding, planning events or managing performance, HR is at the heart of employee engagement and culture, we get to see it all and experience the highs and the lows of the employee experience. How do we use the wisdom that comes from our interactions to help our organization make decisions to engage our people, gain buy-in, and provide the best service to our customers and clients? This is the age-old challenge for HR - using our data to help shape the strategic direction of our organizations. It is a proactive, empowerment approach to HR that will help us not only be seen, but also create a workplace that supports our employees in bringing their best selves to work. Using data we have and feedback we have been given, we can guide our organizational decision makers to invest in programs or events that are meaningful and support the culture we are trying to create. How do you do this? This is not an additional job for HR to add to the growing list, it is about being deliberate in our approach and sharing information to help our companies thrive.
