We are pleased to welcome Sarah Miller and Hamneet Minhas of JSS Barristers, who will present on key employment law topics relevant to HR professionals. Speaker bios are included below for your reference.

Speaker Bios:

Sarah Miller

Sarah is a civil litigator specializing in administrative, constitutional, and regulatory law, as well as commercial litigation including employment matters. She has successfully represented clients in various courts and tribunals. Passionate about rule of law and procedural fairness, she strives to ensure that power differentials faced in life are balanced out in the courtroom. With experience in criminal law and corporate settings, Sarah obtained her education from the University of Calgary and joined JSS Barristers in 2019. She sat on the Canadian Bar Association's Federal Courts Bench and Bar Liaison Committee for the 2022-2024 term.

Hamneet Minhas

Hamneet earned her Juris Doctor and Honours Business Administration degrees through Western University and the Ivey School of Business’s dual JD/HBA program in 2026. Throughout her studies, she demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and advocacy, serving as Co-Chair of the Western Health Law Association and Co-VP Finance of the South Asian Law Student Association. Her interest in advocacy also extends to healthcare research and policy. Through roles with the Ivey-Schulich Healthcare Incubator Program and the Health, Ethics, Policy, and Law Lab, as well as collaboration with Obesity Canada, Hamneet contributed to initiatives focused on improving patient care, strengthening health systems, and advancing equitable access to treatment.
